Science-backed mental performance training and education for female athletes pursuing collegiate and professional careers

Competitive
female athletes
often face...

Performance & Psychological Pressures

Expectations from coaches, parents, and recruiters, can fuel perfectionism and fear of failure among young female athletes. As pressure rises, they may struggle to maintain confidence, composure, and clear decision-making during competition.

Female-Specific Challenges

Persistent gender stereotypes and limited representation in sports research mean many girls don’t receive tailored mental-performance support. As a result, traditional male-oriented psychology tools may not fully address their unique needs and experiences.

Environmental
Stressors

Balancing academics, training, social life, and recruiting demands can create constant overwhelm. At the same time, social media comparison and evolving identity make emotional regulation and self-worth especially challenging during this developmental stage.
Women make up about 35% of participants in general sports science studies; however, only around 6-9% of sports science research is dedicated solely to female athletes, leading to male-centric medical/training protocols.
More than one million teenage girls (43%) who once considered themselves ‘sporty’, disengage from sport following primary school, due to fear of feeling judged by others (68%), lack of confidence (61%), pressures of schoolwork (47%) and not feeling safe outside (43%).
20% of female athletes in a recent report said their relationship with their coach negatively impacted their mental health in the past month, and the percentage of women feeling comfortable talking to their coaches about mental health fell from 49% in 2015 to 40% recently, indicating a drop in trust.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a sport psychologist and a mental performance consultant?

A sport psychologist is a clinical mental health professional that is licensed to diagnose and treat mental illnesses (i.e., depression, anxiety, eating disorders, sleep disorders, etc.). Mental performance consultants are not required to obtain state licensure and primarily focus on performance enhancement. If you are struggling with mental health issues, please consult with a licensed mental health professional.

Do you work with clients in person or virtually?

Both. All 1:1 mental performance consulting services and group programs are virtual. This means SPC LLC works with clients all over the world! Depending on where you are located, we can discuss in-person options for live workshops

Are payment plans available?

Yes!  SPC LLC will work with clients to determine the best payment plan for their financial situation.

Do you take insurance?

Unfortunately, services provided by SPC LLC are not covered by health insurance. SPC LLC does not conduct any type of assessments, diagnose/treat mental health disorders, or provide psychological treatments.

This includes athletes across all sports and competitive levels, business executives, and other high-performing individuals.
